About Diaries
Diaries began last October 2025 when 2 seniors put their heads together and came up with a project that elevates seniors and their stories.
Seniors have a unique and valuable ‘age-perspective’ resource of vintage experience, knowledge, wisdom and inspiring stories needing to be written and preserved before they are lost forever. Diaries was created to provide seniors with the opportunity to share their personal life stories and special memories with others, both in print and online, and to ignite that same desire across the aging community.
Meet the Authors
Jane Spencer
I am Jane Spencer, a nom de plume, and I spent most of my childhood, right through to the age of 20, travelling with my family to various corners of the world.
Miriam Trump
I’m Miriam Trump, possessor of that not-so-revered of names, retired elementary school teacher, mother of three, and also soon-to-be grandmother of three.
Carolyn Wilker
Carolyn R. Wilker, author, oral storyteller and retired editor, enjoys walks in nature and taking photos of nature scenes, holidays, and subjects for scrapbooking and watercolour painting.
Ted Ellis
Ted was born in Welland, Ontario in the 1950’s. He attended elementary and high school in the same city and took up piano at age 8.
Jockie Loomer-Kruger
Now 90, Jockie, who lives in Truro, Nova Scotia, has loved writing since she could first print and spell. Her formal education was teacher training, and later secretarial and bookkeeping.
Seema Rustam
Seema is a medical doctor by profession. Born, raised, and educated in Karachi, Pakistan, she is a descendant of Iranian, Afghan and Indian -Kashmiri immigrants to Pakistan.
Laura-Lee
I am a mother of teenage twins who keep my husband and me quite busy. I enjoy spending time with family and friends and being outside surrounded by nature.
Sherry
Sherry has had a love for writing from a very young age. Creative by nature, she was always found drawing and writing stories.
Sue Phillips
Sue is a Serious Illness / End-of-Life Doula in the Dundas and Parry Sound areas supporting individuals and families through some of life’s most challenging transitions.

Marios is a professional business coach and an amateur writer working with service-based entrepreneurs, helping them navigate the messy, human side of building a business.

In addition to the very accurate picture of the penetrating character of MRS WILSON, you also beautifully painted the broad landscape of the ‘age’, which quickly and easily filled in the canvas of my memories of the time. (I just remembered that my art teacher’s name was MISS HATCH, who swept into class like the Wicked Witch of the West – hat included, in my imagination). Thanks, George, for a fun and very realistic picture of the past. And gratitude to Diaries for also giving us the precious opportunity of reliving our long-forgotten ‘flashbacks’.

Beautifully filled with evocative images and nostalgia! Loved August’s heat so hot that “the breeze seemed to have gone on holiday”; also, the squirrels who “stretched themselves across tree branches as if they had melted there.”
Equally loved February’s images of the hottest summer days in Australia, when summer “kicked off its thongs and refused to move,” and the description of the heat having “a personality of its own,” that “wrapped itself around you the moment you stepped outside.” Thanks for a blazing beginning to an otherwise gray morning, Jane!

Miriam, as always, you manage to find the humour and joy in every situation. I love this story. It brought back memories of the scandalous book passed around the youth club we went to. Now I am left trying desperately to remember the name of that book! Obviously, my memory recall is not as good as yours.
